OUR STORY

TITO ARDIE

“Tito" means uncle in the Filipino language of Tagalog. It is used to show respect to your relatives, friends and elders.

Every household has a family member that made the best food- Grandma, Aunt, Uncle, for us it was Tito Ardie.

Ardie Raymundo/Owner is known as Tito “ Ardie”
He was always a popular fixture in many family parties and events cooking his famous BBQ, Ribs, Pancit and Lechon Kawali.

In his younger years Tito "Ardie" was in a management training program at Arlington Park Hilton Chicago, learning about the hospitality industry, he owned a Subway sandwich shop in Bensenville, Illinois and managed a Boston Chicken restaurant.

                         FOOD TRUCK

Early 2016 Ardie used his culinary and business expertise   to start a food truck business. He introduced his version of Filipino street food to Kansas City and KCK metropolitan area.

Kansas City, the hub of Midwest Barbecue enjoyed our take on BBQ- Tito’s Pork Chicken BBQ and Island Ribs became instantly one of the favorites of the mobile foodies. We were always a crowd favorite,
Tito’s Food truck has been a favorite in festivals and events. We booked many corporate and private parties during our first year.

FROM FOOD TRUCK TO FOOD COURT

One of the most asked questions we got from our food truck was
"Do you have a restaurant?" so  when we were offered the opportunity to work with Simon Properties in the Independence Center Food Court, we found a way to expand our growing business.

Even with our expansion we will continue to have our food truck available for events, year round. We also have a catering menu available to order at our food court outlet.

Filipino Food Rising Popularity

Filipino cuisine has become more popular in the last couple of years. In addition to the number of talented Filipino chefs making new interpretations of the food, many prominent TV chefs have recently been praising Filipino food and giving it a much higher profile .Bon Appetites Top #2 New Restaurant 2016 is Bad Saint is a Filipino restaurant in DC

The dishes that define Filipino food are: lumpia (egg rolls), pancit (stir-fried noodles) adobo (meat braised with soy sauce, vinegar and spices), skewers of barbecued pork and chicken, menudo (pork stew with tomatoes, peppers, potatoes) , island pork ribs, longonisa (sweet chorizo).

These are just some of the daily staples at Tito’s BBQ & Kitchen!

We also have our specialties made from scratch  empanadas, siopao (Steamed buns) and banana spring rolls.

To balance the savory tastes of our food, we added “Tito’s Treats” to our menu. We partnered with Ramar Foods to bring Magnolia Tropical Ice Cream. Tropical Filipino flavors like Mango, Ube ( purple yam ) Coconut made into milk bars offers a taste of true paradise.

Filipino food ….is a fusion of many different cuisines and influences, and no one gets this better than TITO’S BBQ & Kitchen

Our Food Truck is inspired by Jeepneys

Jeepneys, sometimes called simply jeeps, are the most popular means of public transportation in thePhilippines. They are known for their crowded seating and kitsch decorations, which have become a ubiquitous symbol of Philippine culture and art.
